Re: gotta' dog
There is a guy where I work who hates pets in his house.
He is a weird smurf.
A few weeks ago he came in all sad because someone had busted into his place and took alot of smurf. I told him he needed a dog and he scoffed at the idea. I said "but, dude, dogs keep your house safe" and he went "ya if you want to deal with smurf on your floor"
Idiot.
I know when I leave my house that I don't have to worry. I usually lock my doors but that gives me scant security. What makes my house seem safe to me is my dog. The way she barks at strangers, the way someone would have to be genuinely insane to try to break in with Sadie on guard.
I like that the fact that Sadie is just a big chubby ball of love is reserved knowledge for our friends. All others get the teeth, growl and fang display.
"and it's not surprising that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
