Re: Hey, old mac geeks!

It's the application fom a game called Thexder, more popular in Japan. Copyright 1991, Sierra Online. Worked great on my Mac Plus, best with System 6.

Where did you get the rabid puppy? That's scary.

Re: Hey, old mac geeks!

That puppy's name is Lin Lin. Bungie's old pseudo-mascot. Haven't seen that lil doggy in years...Ah, the memories...

Thexder! I've been looking for the Apple ll GS vesion of that game! How good is it? Since its a game developed by Game Arts, my expectations are rather high.

The Apple IIgs version of Thexder is good (well, was good when it came out).  Finding it can be a problem.  You can try eBay or check out http://www.a2central.com/ and see if you can find someone willing to sell their copy.  (There were even two easy cheats to Thexder that I remember.  The obvious was to set your machine to "slow" mode, letting you react better to the ambushes, but the better one was if you used keypad play and were in "jet" mode, but hitting & holding the space bar you could "freeze" in the air & still shoot, making killing some stuff WAY easier).

The "sequal" to Thexder, Sillpheed. was also pretty good for the time.

Thanks much. As a dog owner, I am now ever more deeply unsettled. I have kept a copy of the photo for future perusal, however... roll

Actually, it was a "sequel" instead of a sequel.  It was more of a "Jet in space" type game, but it was done by the same people who designed Thexder & used some similar gameplay, so it's considered a "sequel".
