Not from a dentist, but my general outdoorsy knowledge includes a good remedy for toothache while out on the trail is to suck on a teabag cause the tannins in the tea helps. Not sure where I picked up that big of information now that I think of it. Hell, I don't even know what tannins are.

Re: Speaking of unplugged - I get my wisdom teeth removed
I had three of the four wisdom teeth pulled in one shot. The fourth is actually laying horizontally along my jaw-line. Very odd in the x-ray - it's like it fell over. Since it hasn't emerged, and doesn't show any signs of emerging, the dentist thought it best to leave it alone.
I finished off a bottle of the good stuff, and switched to Alleve for a few days. Thankfully, the worst of the bleeding was over in a couple of days.

My dentist did, even suggested gently biting down on a tea bag.

I've also been told that sipping on green tea with honey in it can help heal the 'sockets' faster as well. I brewed about three pots a day, and while I don't have a reference, the wounds did heal nicely.

Yeah, I did the tea bag thing too, there was alot of bleeding at first because all 4 wisdom teeth were parallel with my jaw. Along with vicodin anti imflamitory and antibiotic, I think I'm set. It's still intresting to eat, the smurfing thing started bleeding again at x-mass dinner. Oh, and also, I'm typing this on my new iPod touch
If microsoft made a vacuum cleaner it would be the only thing they made that wouldnt suck!
