Re: ipod touch vnc help?

Are you trying to move files between the Touch and the MacBook ?  If yes, then the program "Air Sharing" in the iTunes App Store will work.

Or are you trying to online with Mail, Safari ?

Ah, good luck.  I'll have to try that myself.

Re: ipod touch vnc help?

Try the address which is listed in System Preferences / Sharing.

Are you using a router (Linksys, Apple Airport, ... ) ?   Then you might have to do some "port forwarding".

Re: ipod touch vnc help?

I believe you may have to forward the appropriate port to 192.168.1.100.  See if you can find out what port Mocha VNC uses and modify the settings in your router.  Sorry I can't help further.  I have not tried this program out on my Touch yet.

Re: ipod touch vnc help?

If your router doesn't support IP NAT loopback, you won't be able to connect from within your network through your external IP address.

Re: ipod touch vnc help?

Yes, forward ports and then use the external IP address (not 192.168.x, which is a local IP only accessible from within your home network) on your iPod touch. Your ISP is probably issuing a dynamic IP address, so you'll need to use a free dynamic DNS service, such as DynDNS (but preferably one supported on your router, if any). You'll also need to make sure that the MacBook doesn't go to sleep.

Re: ipod touch vnc help?

You'll still need a router that supports NAT loopback for that to work.

Re: ipod touch vnc help?

Damn. Can't we ever get a simple push button A, insert tab B or a sequential step listing?
