Video Card upgrade for G5 Tower
Not sure where to put this post, so I post it here. I want to upgrade my video card for my G5 1.8GHz single chip, late 2003 model, the one with the 8 memory slots. I want one with at least 256mb of video ram on it. Not sure what to make of my google search. Any thoughts?

Re: Video Card upgrade for G5 Tower
I suggest looking at xlr8yourmac.com as they list a good selection of Mac cards. Even if you don't buy from them (ie, if you get a used card) at least you won't have to wade through the hundreds of PC cards Google will find for you.

Re: Video Card upgrade for G5 Tower
If memory serves and without rechecking old specs, the last, best card you can use (AGP 4x/8x) is the ATi X800 XT. Aside from the OEM-only X850, it's about the best AGP card the Mac ever got, tho the NV card at the time (late '04) could give it a run. Pricey, tho, if you can even still find one.
This might help.
