USB port/Keyboard/mouse problem
This just started occurring the other day. Yesterday, while playing DROD-TCB, in the middle of a game while making a move, my keyboard simply stopped working. No reaction to anything I hit, but the mouse sort of worked. The cursor would move, but clicking didn't do anything. Fooling around a bit I found that plugged directly into my G5 (late 2005) nothing worked, but plugged into my USB hub, the keyboard/mouse worked. I tried a few more connections and then the leyboard/mouse were locked out completely so I ended up having to reboot. Today it happened again. This time I tried switching USB ports and the keyboard started working again. That said, does this mean something bad is happening/going to happen to my USB ports? Any ideas/hints?

Re: USB port/Keyboard/mouse problem
It sounds more like your system files are borked. Have you tried repairing permissions?

Let me give that a try. Been a while since I repaired permissions.
