Please Read First - How to ask a question and stay on topic
Hi Everyone,
Welcome to the Apple Laptop hardware answer center. We hope this new forum will be a huge success and that it'll be helpful to our readers.
The fine folks over at MyService will be hosting and answering all your questions in this forum. Thanks MyService!
Before you start firing off questions about RAM, hard drives and logic boards, we do have a few guidelines for the forum.
Please keep your questions on topic. Apple laptop hardware. Please no questions about random software or why your iTunes playlist insists on playing Milli Vanilli over and over again. Please direct any other questions to the appropriate forums. There are plenty of helpful Mac|Life forum members that'll be happy to help you out.
Stay on topic. I know I just said that, but we all know how easy it is to get distracted and start talking about Dr. Who. Let's try and keep this forum streamlined and focused on the task at hand.
The same Mac|Life forum, "Don't be a jerk" rule applies in here. The technicians will be answering your questions in addition to their regular tasks at MyService. While it would be the greatest job in the world to just sit around and wait for your question on Firewire ports, it's not feasible. Your question will be answered in a timely manner. Please have patience.
Now, go ahead and ask your super complex Apple laptop hardware question and the MyService technicians will do their best to help you out.

Since this specific forum belongs to Macsense, i 'd say that they are the only ones that are going to be answering all questions. We have other forums that everyone else can help out in.
This, of course, is just my opinion. This specific issue wasn't addressed when this forum was created.

Re: Please Read First - How to ask a question and stay on topic
I understand why these guys want to stick with what their business specializes in, but from a forum user experience perspective, it seems like there is a opportunity to also address desktop hardware.
Moreover, I would hope regular users would still be encouraged to answer hardware questions. That's one of the primary reasons folks like me have been dropping by for 10 years.

We at MacService would love to hear answers submitted by regular users. The more in on the discussion the better. We use forums to research solutions just like everyone else. So yes, please join in.
Also, we do work on quite a few Mac desktops so if you have hardware questions related to these, please feel free to ask.
