So which was more bizarre? The Star Wars TV Special, or Rudolph and Frosty's Christmas in July (for those who remember this acid trip)?
I've only seen the star wars special - but I have to say it is worse because so much more was expected than would be expected from a Rudolph / Frosty cartoon.

The Star Wars special is INSANE. The Beau Arthur Cantina musical number is just the tip of the iceburg. There's a scene where Chewbacca's son Itchy (!) uses some holocrystal that fades 70s disco ball style into a musical ballet of a funkytown romance virtual love-partner--hyper Star Wars underage wookie bestiality fantasies. It's no wonder George Lucas wants to desperately keep that thing burried and forgotten. The Boba Fett animation still rules though.
Is that available on BT?
I found it a few years ago - a transfer from videotape recording of the broadcast.
Really, though, it was a waste of bandwidth.
And the bobo cartoon sucked - Luke trusting bobo because "he said he was our friend" or something along those lines - give my a flying break.

The animation was cool, in Heavy Metal / Ralph Bakshi kind of way. Considering how square and wholesome the Star Wars universe is, it's almost surprising they went with such an underground artistic style.
It was also interesting to see Boba Fett riding around on his sandworm-like steed and carrying a long, trident-like weapon.
I think the most absurd part of it all was when R2D2 just happened to stumble across a video conference between Vader and Boba while he was flipping through the TV channels or surfing the Web, so to speak. You'd think the Empire would have heard of encryption.

Square and wholesome isn't how I would describe the Christmas special. Not with a grandpa wookie jerking off ...
I think the writers stole some of Carrie Fisher's coke.

Not enough of it, though!
It sure didn't take long, however, for the tide to change. We went from Carrie Fisher's nipple's allegedly being taped down in A New Hope, because George Lucas supposedly didn't want any sex in his faerie-tale, to dancing Twi'leks lewdly wiggling their lekku and the Princess naked on a leash, getting licked by Jabba.
All of which is still pretty wholesome by my standards.

They didn't do anything to stop the bouncing.
