iPhone user retardedness
OK, I bougt an iPhone. I'm happy.
However, something in my brain is deficient. When I have a contact set up with 2 phone numbers (one for their cell, other for home) selecting the first (top tier) phone number dials the contact. If the second tier phone number is selected, it for some reason decides to try and send a text message. I just want it to dial the number.
What am I doing wrong?

Re: iPhone user retardedness
I tried setting up a contact the way you've described in my iPhone... the issue you describe didn't happen w/me.
Take a screen shot of it and upload that here... maybe that will help. Just grey out random digits in the phone numbers for security purposes.
To take a screen shot press the home & power button at the same time. You'll seen the screen flash and here a camera shutter.

When I hit the "work" number, it wants to send a text message.

Re: iPhone user retardedness
You've got the work number entered as an email address. They should both be in the section above "ringtone". Just hit edit and enter it in the top phone number section.

Re: iPhone user retardedness
Hmmm...I edit my contacts in Address Book on my Mac Pro...if I can't get it sorted out, I'll upload a screen shot of what my contacts look like.
I appreciate the help.

Re: iPhone user retardedness
Here is what I see in Address Book for the same contact in the screenshot from the iPhone:
And this is what the card looks like when I edit:
I don't quite know where I went wrong...

Re: iPhone user retardedness
Well, I don't know why it's not made more clear in that view, but the second row there should be an email address, not a phone number. To enter a second phone number, click the + button to the left of the mobile line. While you're there, click the – button next to that "home" number and delete that entry which should be an email address.
