Just got an iPhone
I've been a Mac convert for a few years now, but I never saw myself buying an iPhone.
Well, that changed last night. Just got myself the 16GB iPhone in black. I think I'm hooked already.

Re: Just got an iPhone
I remember the first weeks when I got my iPhone 2G - I really handled it with kid gloves. ;-)
I still love it. Every day.

Re: Just got an iPhone
Do what I did, jam your iPhone to the gills with free stuff, then delete the free stuff you never use, and just buy the paid stuff that really looks good. Also, be aware that paid stuff tends to have free versions that let you try out a app before you buy, since the app store doesnʻt have shareware in itʻs business model. Anyhoo, Enjoy your iPhone

I pretend on getting mine after OS 3.0 comes out, perhaps even after another version of it comes out. I can wait very long. Anyways. Congrats on your new Iphone. Hope you enjoy it.

The iPhone is sweet, but the monthly plan cost is nuts.

Compared to a simple phone only plan, sure.

Hmmm I am pretending on getting one now ... then when the new hardware comes out ... I think I will get one or two for real.

Re: Just got an iPhone
I just found out that insurance is not available for the iPhone - this could be a deal breaker on my desire to switch. If this is indeed true does it concern you iPhone owners?

Better than nothing but it only covers manufacturers defects.

Yeah, with Verizon you could dunk the phone and get a new one, if you bought the coverage for it.

The current 3G doesn't mean "third generation" so that wouldn't make much sense.

Re: Just got an iPhone
There are some ads from Sprint featuring a new 4G network. I guess ATT will create one to compete with them and so will the others. Apple will be forced to create an Iphone compatible with a 4G network. It is the most probable likely event. Given Apple is working on OS 3.0 the new hardware could come after they launch it making 4G even more of a possibility.

It doesn't/didn't concern me since I take care of my equipment. If I break it beyond repair? Oops, looks like I need to get a new one.
I have an original iPhone still. The new calling plans do have me concerned because of their price. I hope at&t comes with an aggressive new plan for the new phone and software. Otherwise I might just not buy a new phone this summer?

Re: Just got an iPhone
What has changed regarding the calling plans?
I have 900 anytime minutes for $59.99 per month. I have unlimited data and unlimited texts for an additional $40.00 per month for a grand total of $99.99. I don't find this unreasonable at all.
Is there going to be some sort of insane price increase for the new iPhone that I am unaware of?
Fill me in. I'm really curious now.

Re: Just got an iPhone
The data went up 10 bucks for the 3G
your plan would cost you 109.99 for the 3G

The 4G ATT networks won't be available for a few more years.
Sprint 4G is available in baltimore
VZW claims it will go live in 2010
ATT seems to be 2011
