Adobe CS2 Constrain to 300 pixels.exe

Here is the situation. We had four images on the desktop, selected all of them, right click to open them in photoshop CS2. However, we accidentally hit "Constrain to 300 pixels.exe".
Is there any way to reverse this action? The images are now too small to be useful...after two hours of work and they were perfect looking.

Any help would be very greatly appreciated.

I take it that action was set to save in the original location and close? Oops. And you have no backup? D'oh.

Sorry. You're boned.

Yep! Old adage: "Always work on a copy" when using any kind of PS Action/script/automation. Sorry, dude!

Sure, but it's not "Always work on a copy when accidentally using any kind of PS Action/script/automation." That just sucks.

Meh!! Maybe... but... "Accidentally"  can be avoided with a back-up - just saying!

Re: Adobe CS2 Constrain to 300 pixels.exe

All right. So we are screwed.
So, how do we go in and change it so it will not do it automagically? And is there a way to disable it from showing up in the right click menu?
My wife said that it just automatically changed it. Didn't even ask for an ok.
And it truly was a mistake.

Uhm, when using automated actions, isn't the default generally set to pull the original from one location, then save to another, thereby avoiding this issue altogether, or have I overlooked some detail?

Yes, normally when working inside Photoshop that would be the case.
But aren't we talking about one of those Right Click actions that Adobe$oft included with earlier versions of CS?

They appear to have dropped them now (I'm using CS4) but I seem to remember that you were presented with a lot of options when Right Clicking a file.

Good riddance.

Like I said, I'm using CS4 on a clean install so I can't test this, but you might want to take a look in...

/Library/Contextual Menu Items

or

Users/your_user_name/Library/Contextual Menu Items

... and see if the offending item is in there. If it is, just trash it!

Re: Adobe CS2 Constrain to 300 pixels.exe

Well, I did a little bit more investigating. Apparently, it does ask if we want to complete the action, but she probably went ahead and clicked ok without realizing what it was going to do.
We did trash the offending .exe scripts, so they no longer show up as an option in the Right Click menu.
I have strongly encouraged her to work with a copy in the past, so now maybe this little disaster will encourage her to do so as well.
I would love to upgrade to CS4, but the price isn't worth it.
Just an aside, would Time Machine have been able to help us out by going back an hour earlier? This may make my case for an upgrade to Leopard!
