Powermonkey-eXplorer
I bought the Powermonkey-eXplorer directly from the manufacturer in Great Britain, and with shipping it turned out to be less that $100 (probably due to the conversion from dollars to pounds). So don't buy it from Amazon, where you will pay the full list price of $129.
The device works great, except for one little annoying thing: a message flashes on the iPhone screen telling me that it is not designed for the iPhone, and it asks me if I want to set the phone to "airplane mode." This wouldn't be so bad if it only did it once, but it persists to flash this dialog box that requires me to answer no, and proceed with whatever I am doing.
If you find this as annoying as I do, I would recommend using the charger when you are not trying to use the iPhone.
Cheers,
Norman
