Convert music files to basic .mp3
I have all sorts of music files in my iTunes Library... aac, m4a and a couple versions (or something) of mp3's. I am attempting to put them on a thumbdrive and play off my head unit in car. For some reason the head unit is being finicky and playing only mp3 even though it is capable of the others.
Is there a (cheap) drag and drop converter that can turn the above files into an mp3?
Thank you!

You have to rip the m4a files to CD first. Then you can convert them.
Sound Grinder is a good converter.

Actually, you should be able to convert them all to mp3 right from iTunes. Just change the prefs to make the default encoding mp3 instead of AAC and choose "convert to mp3" from the advanced menu. It's only the protected iTunes Store m4p files that you would have to burn to CD first.

Damn, I never can remember which extension is protected and which isn't. Well iTunes will tell you.
The nice thing about Sound Grinder is that it will do batch conversions to lots of different formats.
