Re: 10.5.7 released
I just put my iMac to sleep and waited a few min before clicking on the mouse. It then woke up just fine.

Re: 10.5.7 released
One MAJOR issue that 10.5.7 did not address with my MBP is: when the battery completely drains it just shuts off suddenly instead of going to sleep. If it drains down while already in sleep mode it wakes up with a grayed out screen and I need to restart holding down the power button. So in either scenario I lose whatever I was working on.
This really suxs. It could be related to the fact that the battery is aftermarket though. I just don't know?

I had a similar issue a while ago with my MBP, but it was the result of a firmware update. Has it been ages since your last firmware update?
This update bricked the MacBook of a friend of mine. But it's the only problem I've heard from my IRL contacts.

Re: 10.5.7 released
Well, one other thing happening after this "update" is that my MBP now connects to another wifi network in our home randomly that it never connected to before, and therefore, my MBP does not have the WEP password for it in the Keychain. So it looks like I'm connected with full bars in the menu bar but am not. Many times I now have to manually choose my preferred network which is pure n as opposed to my wife's g network.
This update sux. Either people see no difference, a very slight possibly placebo induced speed increase, or are having issues. There better be a few more minor updates to get the bigger issues right.
700MB + update and we get this?

Re: 10.5.7 released
I don't realistically know how much more of an update we'll get before 10.6. Most of the problem reports I've been seeing are isolated issues.
Other than making sure you've done regular OS maintenance, the only other thing I'd recommend is installing the combo update.

I always do. And I run DiskWarrior, Cocktail, repair Permissions, etc.

No problem here either. Neither on the real Mac nor on the other one.

Re: 10.5.7 released
Still not bothering, I don't see the benefits vs. the problems I keep reading.

Re: 10.5.7 released
I fixed my sleeping issue. I had to add ethernet to the list of connections.
seems like a lot of the problems with 10.5.7 are network issues.
