Help! All my pics are gone!!!

my fiancee put all of our pictures of our newborn son and other pics from the last few years onto an external hard drive, a WD MyPassort 160GB. He also transferred all the programs we have never used like photobooth and iphoto on to the external. I should tell you that none of the Leopard programs have ever worked because i have an older iBook and i upgraded withought iLife. The pictures were on the external about a week ago and now there are no images at all on the hard drive. The pictures were all split up into several folders. The images folder contains all of these folders without any pics in them, If anyone knows how to find photos that have maybe been deleted please let me know. Those pics are of my son birth until a week ago he is 4 months. please help if you have any advice.

Re: Help! All my pics are gone!!!
1) Moved to Everday Tech (tech support forum.)
2) Don't take applications out of your applications folder. It screws 'em up.
3) Never store data in only one place or on only one hard drive. If you want to keep it around, anyway. Lesson learned; sorry it was a painful one.
4) I've heard good things about this undelete program. But you should stop using the external hard drive until you're ready to run a scan for deleted files. If you think the files may have "disappeared" instead of being actually erased (by your or another user) you might try using DiskWarrior to repair the drive instead.

They also may just be hidden from view in the Finder. If you "Get Info" on the folders, do they list any significant size?
