old purple iMac
I received an old purple iMac and i has OS 8.6. What's the best possible OS i can put on this? I have tiger on my mac mini...will this old iMac accept Tiger? I doubt it but I really don't know...I just know it was like going back in time when i turned it on...would like to upgrade as high as possible but still keep that iMac for the kids.
any suggestions?

It's very likely that you MUST install a firmware update before installing OS X.
