Only Brief and Intermittent and "single site" Airport Internet

Greetings!

I managed to tinker my Airport Internet into working between my 900mHz G3 iBook and my 700mHz iMac (both under 10.4.11) which has DSL on Ethernet. That is it's "kinda" working...

The weirdness is it seems that I can roam any hotlinked page (only the first I log on!) within a web site, but if I attempt to go outside a website the link swiftly crawls to a stall that "can't locate this website." For instance, I can access all the hotlinked pages within MacInTouch, but if I take one that goes to a site outside MacInTouch it stalls off and the only way I can reestablish wireless networking is turning off Airport on both sides and fiddle around again.

I know my iBook's original Airport card is working very weell at libraries and malls, and the Airport strength indicator on Mac Stumbler is almost always over 100 so I assume the iMac's transmitting well -- which it does when you're stuck on one web site. Yes, curiouser and curiouser, but any solutions that I can pass on to a home school? Thanks!

iBook Settings:

Perferred Network: MyLink WEP
Using DHCP
AppleTalk Active, Auto
No Proxies/Passive FTP
Sharing On: Persona File Sharing, Personal Web Sharing, Print Sharing. No Firewall. Internet: Share your connection from AIRPORT. To computers using Built-in Ethernet

iMac Settings:

Using DHCP.
AppleTalk Active, Auto
No Proxies/Passive FTP
Sharing On: Persona File Sharing, Personal Web Sharing, Print Sharing. No Firewall. Internet: Share your connection from ETHERNET. To computers using Airport.
Eternet Config: auto.

If anything here gives you a hint, please tell!

Thanks!

Re: Only Brief and Intermittent and "single site" Airport Internet

If the internet connection is by ethernet from your modem to the iMac:
Turn off internet connection sharing on the iBook.
Your iBook will connect by AirPort to the iMac.

Only one computer needs to do the sharing.
Internet connection sharing makes one computer (host) the router.  All other computers (clients) connect to the host.

Edit:
And turn your firewalls back on - both computers.
