Chill. You posted this thread in MacLife Readers, which is for threads that pertain to the magazine. It was moved here.

Re: Last Will and Testament software for Mac?

Thanks, mrreet2001. I'd done just that and found that one. But i was a bit dubious, being that there were no ratings/reviews, the software is 3 yrs. old and the developer's site is non-existent.

I was hoping for something that someone's used or had a good reco from someone. Quicken's version (nolo) is only for Windoze and the only other one I've found is from "Standard Legal":

http://www.standardlegal.com/Google/Las … nAodzj1BBw

But again, knowing nothing about them, I'm a bit concerned.

Does anyone have any experience w/these programs or another?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Last Will and Testament software for Mac?

There really isn't a wide market for these things. And in many cases, it's worth the money to go to a lawyer.

Besides, lawyers need to eat, and having a legal, and constructive manner to earn money keeps them out of trouble.

Re: Last Will and Testament software for Mac?

I would have thought it is the sort of thing that would lend itself to an online based solution rather than a platform dependant application solution.

I second the advice to see a lawyer (disclaimer, was one for ten years).  Wills need to be pretty carefully drafted as the court can't ask you what you meant once an ambiguous phrase suddenly becomes important.  If your affairs are even slightly complicated, this becomes all the more important.

Having said all that, here in NZ you can buy a DIY Will kit from good stationers.  That may be another option.

There's no such thing as last will and testament software -- they're just legal documents. What you're looking for is last will and testament TEMPLATES. You can find a bunch at nolo.com, which is the premier resource for legal documents online.
