mac address blocking

so simple question, is there a way that if one mac address is connected to block another? or basically force only one or the other to be allowed to connect at one time?  preferably with the preference towards one or the other, though I'd settle for the binary option.  Also I'm using an Airport extreme N variation.  Any ideas?

Re: mac address blocking

Most routers allow an option to allow access based upon MAC address. I use a Linksys not an Airport, so I can't say specifically where in Airport that is done.

Re: mac address blocking

I saw the mac address control, but I want to do more than allow and block others, I was hoping there was some way to set up an exclusive OR option between two computers.  Such as

If(A trying to connect AND B is not connected)
     allow
If(B trying to connect AND A is connected)
     disconnect A, connect B

Re: mac address blocking

I have never seen that in consumer level Access Points / routers.

Re: mac address blocking

mrreet is right. consumer level equipment doesn't allow that.

Re: mac address blocking

yeah, though it would be nice if i could give on priority, so that if computer A wants to connect, B gets knocked off, and B can only connect if A isn't connected

Re: mac address blocking

That would be on a server with scripts running in the background. Far past the normal consumer router thingy.

Easier to just get up walk over to whomever is on Computer B and and whack them until they give log off.

Re: mac address blocking

fun part now is there's an additional router between the Airport and A and B

And I can't find anything on VLAN or IP segregation on apple Airport

Here's the gist of the problem

Buddy has two windows, one his work is giving him, one his own, and a crappy linksys wireless, he wants to plug all this into the LAN which his work computer requires because it's some government contracted company, which he has no admin control over so he can't install anything.

Personally I don't like the idea of three insecure access points I have no control over sitting on the LAN and not the WAN.  Much less when one of them he has no control over and so could not counter any malware that may get on it.  Most likely it will just come down to a discussion that only the work computer gets on the LAN, and if there is an objection, the router will lose it's ability to connect.
