.m4v to .wmp file converstion help needed!
Hullo!
I'm going to try to send a .m4v clip to a PC user who probably will use their media player to look at it. Question: how can I convert it so that she can see this file on her PC? I've got Stomp but only the trial version and FC Pro
Heard I can use QT for this...need some help though. I think I've done this before but I can't remember how I did this. Embarressing, I know...sorry
Thanks for any help!
Cheers.

EasyWMV will also do this. Converting m4v through quicktime player requires the Pro version. EasyWMV is cheaper.

I believe an .m4v file is just a type of mpeg for ipods, so you should be able to convert it with Quicktime Pro, which is about a $30 upgrade from apple. I think you need Flip4Mac for the codecs to convert to .wmv / .asf (Advanced System Format is microsoft's blanket file format for .wav audio and .wmv video files).

Re: .m4v to .wmp file converstion help needed!
Ok, here's the deal....I don't want to convert TO a .m4v or .mp4 file at all. I need it to be converted TO .wmp.
EasyWMP converts TO .mp4 FROM all kinds of file versions. Ergo: EWMP is a no go.
I've got Flip4Mac but that's just a plug in that makes it possible to use windows format files to be seen and used via QT etc. Very good plug in but not what I'm looking for in this case.
As to QT...well, I've tryed but no go there either. I think VLC is my closest option for her to be able to see the file. That is....if SHE downloads it for her PeeCee.
If you've got any other ideas I'd be glad to hear them.
Thanks!

I meant that even with Quicktime Pro, you still need the codecs from Flip4Mac to encode to .wmv. However, I also remember hearing that Quicktime Pro now supports .wmv natively, so I'm not positive about it.
But surely your friend can install Quicktime on the PC?
