Night and weekend minutes disappearing
ATT is using up my minutes even when calling friends with ATT cell phone accounts (they don't have iPhones)

You can make calls with the iPhone?
It is an odd thing, but every one who disappears is said to be seen at San Francisco. It must be a delightful city, and possess all the attractions of the next world.

I was alluding to the fact that because the iPhone is on AT&T (in the US), making calls isn't always possible...

Re: Night and weekend minutes disappearing
I checked my bills. Using ATT's mobile to mobile tool, I confirmed that I'm supposed to be getting free calls to a test ATT number of a friend. This should be fun.

I was with AT&T, and even though I never used up my minutes, they NEVER gave me any rollover minutes as my plan was supposed to have.

It's not that hard to saturate an island of 3,515 sq miles (land) with cell service. We have only 2 states smaller than that. And Ohio for instances, the 34th largest state, has over 10 times the land area. Most of the metro areas and major highways have good service if not perfect, but suburbs and rural areas are screwed by ATT.

Re: Night and weekend minutes disappearing
I remember when that was posted. Thank you mrreet. Somehow Sprint and Tmobile haven't had much luck at saturating the island.

Re: Night and weekend minutes disappearing
You must be mainly in a metro area ... there are plenty of places that has no service at all in PR particularly in the center.

Re: Night and weekend minutes disappearing
Actually service is decent in most places. Certain construction materials block the signal. Hopefully switching to a lower frequency will help. But I get a weak signal at home (stucco and reinforced concrete) and at one building at school. Never had a problem with Sprint's CDMA coverage.
I do find myself making calls less and using email and texts more.

.
I wouldn't consider that "decent"

Re: Night and weekend minutes disappearing
Actually I am at the north of the island. I live at the coast very near the beach but the town I live on is very rural. To the point that there is about 1 cow per human in the town. They keep signs that post the amount of people and cows.
I feel the urge to ask this: where do you live robco?

Re: Night and weekend minutes disappearing
I live in San Francisco. I do live near hills, but as soon as I step outside, I get full coverage, so I think it's the building. Sometimes keeping a 3G signal can be a challenge. Most of the time the signal is good, though the call quality isn't as good - even will full bars. Not sure if the iPhone is a bad handset or if it's AT&T. Fortunately I don't make many calls.

Re: Night and weekend minutes disappearing
I think it is ATT. I do have a pal that is an Apple hater and he is also a phone junky. He thinks the iPhone has the best antennas to receive data and cell service.
