h.264 from .dv
What is the proper extension for a h.264 video that Safari can embed with the <video> tag, and what inexpensive windows software can create it from a typical cam corder .dv video file?

I agree with arkayn. And yes Handbrake will do the job.

Thanks!
I know ffmpeg2theora will do the conversion to ogg theora video, but unless Safari users have the right quicktime plugin, that doesn't do them any good.

VisualHub is another; but I am not sure they have a Windows versions. MPEG Streamclip would also do it. H264 can also have the standard .mov extension.
