Testing Websites in Multiple Browsers/Platforms
I've been using browsershots.org to provide screenshots for multiple browsers on multiple platforms. While it works great, I'm finding it very slow especially when it comes down to troubleshooting a tricky CSS problem. The wait times for screenshots even with a subscription can be slow and unreliable at times.
I'm thinking of getting Parallels or Fusion to run Windows so I can test on my own machine. I've read sites describing how to install multiple versions of browsers so I think it shouldn't be a problem (except IE perhaps). I was wondering if anyone has any experience with doing this or any advice on how to best test my sites? What about Codeweavers' CrossOver instead of Parallels or Fusion? Any browsers or platforms I can't test directly on my machine I can use browsershots.org for, but having the browsers right on my machine will save lots of time I'm thinking.
I'm on a 3.06 GHz 24" iMac running 10.5.8.

You can have multiple Window installs as Virtual Machines using Fusion. I like Fusion a lot better than Parallels. Keep in mind that you'll want plenty of RAM if you want to run several VMs.

Oh, that's good to know. Not that I think IE6 is worth it but I suppose it *should* still be tested...ugh.
I've maxed my iMac out at 4GB...with CS4 it's already not enough.
