Connecting record player to computer
I have a MacPro and I want to connect a record player to my computer so I can listen to records through the external speakers that are connected through the line-out port of my Mac.
I have a pre-amped record player with male RCA ends. I bought a coupler to convert the male RCA ends of the record player to female and connected that to a Dual RCA (Phono) male to 1/8" stereo male cable. I connected the stereo male cable to the Audio line-in port.
When I go to the Input Menu in the Sound preferences, I see a good signal coming through on the input level meter but I hear no sound at all.
Is there anything I can do to listen to my record player through my computer speakers?
Thanks
UPDATE:
Problem solved. I installed LineIn and it worked perfectly!
