It’s legal as long as that rule is followed. Bear in mind some wow players disagree with this as it makes it “easy” mode, but I disagree. Mostly because you end up having to do twice the work for twice the reward (gather <count> of this <item> quests SUCK!)

My setup is for for use on a Mac so that are some things I have done to make patching easier, and to save disk space. I have symlinked the copy of wow’s major folders to the original installation. This is makes it easier to do patches, as I apply the patch once, and then copy the .app files to each of the duplicate installs.

This is done using the Terminal in Applications>Utilities> TerminalRally:~ jasnix$ ln -s
usage: ln [-Ffhinsv] source_file [target_file]
ln [-Ffhinsv] source_file ... target_dir
link source_file target_file

Once the software is installed and you have figured out how you want to do your second or third copy of Wow, it’s now a matter of macro’s in WoW, tweaking your key binds (double chatting to guild chat anyone?) and such.
The first macro I use is the one to make the characters follow.
the lead character has some sort of action, all the others have this macro on the same bar
/target focus
/follow
/assist
/stopcasting
There are ways that you can tweak this so that the following characters follow lead character, but assists the MT for raiding.
/target focus
/follow Mayafox
/assist focus
/stopcasting
This would prevent the following character from chasing the MT around if he’s having to move, and makes sure that you can always face the target (just by moving the one it’s following)
I haven’t tried this macro.

Another useful macro is one that accepts trades, resurrects, and group requests
/script AcceptGroup();
/script AcceptQuest();
/script AcceptTrade();
/script RetrieveCorpse();

So simplify the Spells I cast, I have them macrod as well, with the following character using a slightly modified version to assist the lead.
Lead Character Arcane Rotation
/castsequence reset=Target/12 Moonfire, Starfire,Starfire,Starfire
Following Character Arcane Rotation
/assist focus
/castsequence reset=Target/12 Moonfire, Starfire,Starfire,Starfire

You will need to assign the lead character as the focus of what ever characters that are following, in some manner. The group can be chain focused (a<b<c) or all focused on one (A<b A<c).

Keybinds: the software I use doesn’t allow for certain keys to be not broadcast. Keyclone does, and consult their faq, and the dual-boxing.com forums/wiki for information on that. I ended up unbinding the movement keys, chat keys, and a few others.
