CrossOver Games 8.0 for Mac/Linux- now with Snow Leopard support
Email received today...
Hi Folks,
I am happy to announce that we have now released version 8.0.0
of CrossOver Games, for both the Mac and for Linux.
Version 8 now supports Left4Dead, Tales of Monkey Island (via Steam), and
a range of other new games. It also sports a lot of 'under the hood'
improvements that should lead to better visuals, better frame rates and
more enjoyable game play all around.
Version 8 also supports Snow Leopard, so everyone, even the most up
to date folks, can exterminate the Zombie plague.
A full change log is included, below.
If you are an existing CrossOver customer with an active support entitlement,
you can visit our web site to download this latest version:
www.codeweavers.com
You will need to log in with the email and password that you used when
purchasing CrossOver. Please write to info@codeweavers.com if you need
help with this process.
Thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoy gaming with CrossOver!
Cheers

I got that email. Didn't care much because crossover games has been mostly useless for me, so I didn't care much about it.
But when people know what they're doing, it seems it can be good.
I still have it installed anyway. ::starts downloading the update::

L4D seems to work.

Checked it out. Yea, you can play L4D on Crossover. I found it worked acceptably. I did notice that doors ignored clipping. They came to foreground, regardless of where they were.
I tried Red Orchestra as well, but it would only allow about 90 degrees of turn with the mouse. My forward view from spawn was the only view I could achieve. The other 270 degrees were locked from usage.

So you'll be using it for our RO scenarios? Armored combat would rock.

No, i can't turn around. But I use Boot Camp for my gaming needs, in most cases. I use Crossover for the Battlefield games.

I was kidding. Armored combat would rock if you had, say, a T-34/85 but a traverse nearer akin to an SU-85.
