configuring a macbook

please help me configure a macbook for my needs. i am a student that has saved my own money to buy a 13 inch white macbook and i'm interested in feedback on:
  memory
  hard drive
  battery power
  the best applications for picture managing, movie editing, and high school presentations
spending money wisely is paramount. thank you. confused

The Apple-refurbished MacBook can be had for $ 849 + applicable sales tax which a client of mine purchased this past week.   160 GB, 2 GB Ram, OS 10.6 disk included, iMovie, iDVD, iPhoto pre-installed.  Naturally, the more RAM and disk space, the better.

Newer MacBook Pro's will have the best battery life.

I like MacBook Nefarious configured.

That MacBook is easy to upgrade the RAM and hard drive on, so you can get a lot of life (for not a lot of money) out of the book as well.
