Inexpensive 3G S wall charger?
I am VERY disappointed with the poor lifespan of my iPhone's USB cable. It is ridiculously torn up after only about two months of use. At the base of both ends, the wires are exposed. I do take it with me places, but never is it bent or curled at these places. It is very cheap.
I noticed the Griffin charger cables are much thicker. However, I do not see the point in spending over $10 for a simple and cheap-to-produce product such as that of a USB data cable.
I have checked Amazon, but all the inexpensve products are rated poorly. I do not want a car charger, as they are bad for our battery. Just a replacement cable. Anyone know?

$10 for the Griffin cable sounds reasonable to me. You may want to keep one for the house and one for the road, though, so you don't have to keep it packed.
There's what you love to do, and then there's what you get paid to do. Those two things are often different.

Never found one for $10. Was just saying that even ten bucks is pretty steep, but I'd like to find something under twenty, and was hoping someone had personal experience with any.

The power format is pretty standardized, so you don't really have to worry about things like over-voltage. The general problem here is that the 30-pin connector is proprietary, thus more expensive. You can always expect the data cables and power adapters to run for the same approximate amount of money as one for a cell phone. The quality to price ratio remains roughly the same.
The Belkin Rotating Wall Charger squirrels in right under your $20 budget. The included 30-pin cable is modular and can be used as a sync cable as well. A secondary power-only USB port is a plus. Use a second standalone sync cable to charge an additional iPod/iPhone/any other rechargeable USB device.

Isn't that cable still under warranty?
A million seconds is 12 days.
A billion seconds is 31 years.
A trillion seconds is 31,688 years.
Hope and change could be forever.

Re: Inexpensive 3G S wall charger?
I am confused ... are you replacing both the cable and the usb wall plug ... or just the cable?

Just the cable. The cable that Apple wants $20 for. There are some on Amazon for a few bucks, bu most of there are charge only or sync only. Which is no bueno. And some don't even work with 3G S.
