Linux...Anyone Running it on a PPC Machine for Daily Use?

I've been sort of kicking around the idea of trying out some distro of linux on my G4 (dual 1.8ghz, 1.5gb).  OS X runs reasonably well, but it's always nice to try something new.  That, and with Snow Leopard officially dropping PPC support, it would be nice to migrate to a setup that is still supporting PPC processors.

Thoughts?  Is it worth it?  How is performance?

I dual boot my PC laptop with Vista and Ubuntu (patiently awaiting Karmic Koala...), so I do have some linux experience.

There is an Ubuntu PPC distro. I think it works fine, with all the usual caveats.
