There's previously been an article about speeding up your Mac-computer by cleaning out caches and so forth, but that's not what I want to know. I was wondering if anyone had any good tips regarding cleaning the outside, hardware, of your Mac? I have a MacBook Pro Unibody (the first model I guess, no backlit keyboard) and I see it getting somewhat dirtier by the day.
On the screen itself, between the buttons, on the back and so on. As I'm a person who really enjoys having everything in place, both soft- and hardware-wise, I really want it clean.
I usually take it to school where it may pick up some dust so to speak, but if I have to clean it once a week it's really fine by me.

Does anyone have any tips regarding cleaning a MacBook Unibody? Hell, I dropped a few bucks and I want it clean, but I don't want to ruin it or whatnot. The hardest part is probably getting the screen to look like when I bought it, or take the stuff that's in between the buttons.

I too recently purchased a new MBP with a glossy screen and am pretty OCD about keeping it spotless.

I have owned Apple books for years. As a result I have always sworn by OmniCleanz and iKlear.

Last month I ran out of cleaner and by chance picked up some "nice'n clean" electronic cleaning wipes from WalMart of all places!

I am blown away at how well this really inexpensive product cleans my screen! I also use it on the body, and follow up with the cloth.

I have not bought the other uberpriced cleaners since.

I swear by iKlear as well for the screen. For the body I use throw away make-up remover pads i picked up at Walgreens, they work quite well for the job.

I use iKlear with a Microfiber cloth. Whatever cleaner you use, make sure to spray on the cloth first and then clean, the top case/keyboard on the MBU 13" is particularly vulnerable to liquid. We've seen a few that customers shorted because they got too wet during cleaning (crazy I know)

Those are some great tips! Thanks for sharing, I'll try some iKlear, microfiber clothing and hope it works as well for me! Helped me a ton, thank you. smile
