Re: Merry Xmas!!
It's commerce, tho. Some stores started putting up H'ween decorations and merch in early September. Halloween has for some years been the #2 holiday in terms of $$.
The goal seems to be to make the entire last third of the year "The Holidays." Many businesses do half their yearly sales total around Xmas.

Re: Merry Xmas!!
In the world of Xmas CDs this is actually pretty late. If you look at the recording dates on most Xmas CDs you'll see that they are generally recorded in August.
But if you want your CD out before Xmas this year, you gotta record it now.
It's one of the many fun things about being a musician.
Another fun thing is not getting to pick who your agency pimps you to: last night, in an obvious conflict of interest, I played a gig for DARE.

I noticed that not only are they putting up Xmas stuff at the store, but they're taking down Halloween stuff to make room. Wow.
