A simple yet brilliant concept

There have been cases where external links have caused problems.

A link to a white supremist group a few years back resulted in a couple of creeps registering here and stirring up trouble.
Links to blogs have resulted in the owner of the blog registering to defend their position.

The forum can also be used for ranking spam.

The solution -

http://anonym.to/

It takes the url as a get argument and does a redirect, but the site it redirects to doesn't then know the real http referer.

Example -

http://anonym.to/?http://www.example.com/

Their logs will show anonym.to as the referer, not maclife.

Should be easy to add to the forum software code to automate.
If you wanted to do it.

I said I was leaving this forum, but I'm sorry I just had to say something here.

You see people defending their position on something as a smurfing problem? Minithink makes so much more sense to me now.

I always assume that obscured links are spam or malevolent. I like being able to see where a link goes before I click.

Thanks for teaching us how to use the internet Pariah.
