Mobile Me gotcha
Here's a good one. I upgraded my account
yesterday at Mobile Me (www.me.com) to
a larger disk quota in the "cloud".
Today, it still wasn't reflecting on the iDisk
icon on the Snow Leopard desktop.
Apparently it can take up to *** 48 hours *** (!)
for the change to reflect on the cloud servers.
This is remarkable considering modern
logical volume group and disk size extension
technology.
In fact, it doesn't even require that as it is just
the twiddle of a bit in a "quota" flag and the various
software that writes to the disks in the farm that
read the bit and return yes/no depending on
whether it is full or not for the current operation.
I am astounded and surprised at the delay.
Caveat emptor.

There is the "iDisk" app for the iPhone and Mac OS X.
Both permit accessing arbitrary data, all folders/files,
on the cloud.
My observation was about a time-delay in the allocation
of volume storage as visible to the user, not in relation
to any specific app...

I believe his comment was what we'd classify as "humor" around here. You'll see that every so often, although it's not always readily identifiable.
