PS3 Wi-Fi Card

The wireless isn't working on my PS3 unit anymore cry Does anyone know what kind of card it uses and can it be user removed and replaced, maybe it's just loose or something? The unit is the original 40GB PS3 model. I'd hate to run a long ass ethernet cable to get back on line.

Re: PS3 Wi-Fi Card

That sucks. I have no idea. I do know that the PS3 sucks at wireless compared to most gaming devices..

Re: PS3 Wi-Fi Card

My 160GB works pretty well on wireless. Course I haven't multiplayer gamed on it.

All I could say is look for PS3 repair sites. Sometimes they'll have do it yourself guides.

Re: PS3 Wi-Fi Card

a cheap alternative to repair could be purchasing a wifi access point or something. most cheap wifi routers can be set up to do this easily.

then there are things like this: http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/products/WAP54G

hell, i've used my laptop to bridge a wifi connection for my original xbox and 360 on occasion. not a great permanent solution, but if you need something in the interim it works.
