InDesign CS4 Issues

In QuarkXPress, one can layout the pages next to each other without selection "Facing Pages". Well, InDesign CS4 won't let me do this. At least I can't find how to do it. Does anybody here know if this is even an option in InDesign?

Try checking or unchecking "allow pages to shuffle", maybe?

that option only lets you shuffle pages, but doesn't let you put one next to another, just like in Quark.

Re: InDesign CS4 Issues

I don't have access to CS4 anymore, but I don't remember this being much of an issue. Adobe help pages seem to show it working just like CS3. Uncheck the shuffle option and drag the page to either side of any existing page.

Re: InDesign CS4 Issues

I made a document, with facing pages, then added 4-6 pages. Go back to Document Setup, un-check Facing Pages & you'll get a warning like "One or more spreads are set to keep their pages together. Do you want to maintain the current number of pages on these spreads?" and select Yes. Wam, side-by-side pages, although not set up as Facing. I also added new pages & they keep the layout.
