locked music
I brought a new Mac Pro,I transferring music from Backup DVD's I made on my G5.
Question:
1) I transferred the music but left the folder on the desktop, when iTunes finished coping all the songs they showed up but won't play you get a "!". I put the folder in the iTunes music after I had put them in a folder on the desktop. Now it doesn't know where the music is located (4gb of music). iTunes now has put it in separate folders by artist. I already have about 1gb of music on the mac pro. Is there a way for itunes to find all the music without going through each folder and song?
2) I have songs that I made those Back-up DVD's on from my G5 that I brought from the iTunes store, it's asking for the password which I forgot, and my e-mail address now is different. I can't access the old e-mail because it was on a private account not a internet account like Yahoo. Is there a way to get it to work on my Mac Pro??

Re: locked music
For problem #1, sounds like perhaps you have corrupted preferences? And make sure "copy to music folder" is checked in your prefs, and check the location of where iTunes says your music folder is.
And then, if all those are in order, go to the desktop music folder, do a Finder search in that folder for Kind is Music Files, select all and open. iTunes shouldn't duplicate them I think.
