Re: Snow Leopard issues?
I stopped using QTX almost as soon as I put SL on my machine. everything opens in QT 7 Pro just the way I like it. QTX is, imho, a huge piece of crap.

I installed 10.6 fresh...can I install QT7 as well alongside QTX? I have a pro key for 7, but had been hoping for performance enhancement from QTX.

Re: Snow Leopard issues?
qt7 should already be on your system. check your applications > utilities folder. the hard part is getting qtx to stop wanting to open everything.
there is an app called quicktime player launcher that sits in
Code:
/Applications/Utilities/QuickTime Player 7.app/Contents/Resources
I moved that out of the folder then did a "get info" on a .mov file and told it to open with qt7 and to open all others with 7 as well. then did the same thing with .aiv .mp4 .mpg ect… once I was finished I moved the qt player app back into it's former place and haven't seen qtx since.
a few people have said they simply deleted qtx and others have just moved qt7 over to the applications folder and reported success. so I guess you have a few options.
if I remember correctly when you install sl there is an option to include qt7 if you did then it's in the utilities folder as I mentioned earlier. if you didn't choose that option you should be able to dl it from apple's website

Here is a small issue. When you use to create a new folder the naming portion at the bottom (untitled) of the folder was ALWAYS highlighted automatically so you could just type the file name with out having to do anything. Obviously this made things easier. Now I notice this occurs only some times but in some situations does not. I do not know why as I just created two new folders and they both were highlighted but I know this occurs randomly and often enough that I have become annoyed.
Seems to be fixed in 10.6.2

If you are a registered qt7 pro user there is no need to check that option, the s/l installer will automatically install qt7 for you in the utilities

Well, if most of the time.
I just noticed that when I had a Safari window open and created a folder it wouldn't allow an auto edit. So. . .

Re: Snow Leopard issues?
Yes, QTX is such a crappy version of QT! I just don't like the lacking features and options, but do like the borderless viewing. The editing and exporting have gotten less "pro".
If you look around the table and can't tell who the sucker is, it's you.

ImageCapture sees my scanner. It wasn't until i did the OS combo update that it did, though. I still prefer to use my scanners buttons, but that just doesn't work anymore. At least i can scan again, though.

Arkayn linked me to an update for the drivers. I downloaded them but haven't installed. Here's the link in case anyone wants it: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/28 … er-drivers

Re: Snow Leopard issues?
Justine,
I had the same problem, with an HP AIO, altho they release a new driver for mine, like in the last 2 weeks or so, otherwise SL killed mine as well. Hoper yours gets issued soon....
With the newly released driver, all is well again, IMO it has an even better interface.
