Re: Innovative NZ idea for dealing with crime: pay parents not to breed.

I'm all for personal choice.
If the athiest intellectuals want to stop having children, I support that 100%.

If the God fearing want to stop having children, it's their choice, I just remind them about the command to be fruitful and multiply and subdue the earth, but heh, it's still their choice.

Subdue bring under control, not subdue overwhelm.

No, it's subdue and overwhelm. See, raping the Earth for its resources is what G-d wants us to do. He doesn't expect us to actually care for it. The Rapture will come soon and we won't have to worry about global warming.

It is an odd thing, but every one who disappears is said to be seen at San Francisco. It must be a delightful city, and possess all the attractions of the next world.

Exactly my point. The Nature vs. Nurture argument has been debunked a million times, but people still believe in it.

I've also noticed that it defies religious and political boundaries. A general thought of "we'd be better off it those people stopped breeding".

A straggler "survival of the species" instinct, perhaps?  Weed those unfit for breeding out of the clan?

Except that it doesn't work that way.

I still believe in liberalism today as much as I ever did, but, oh, there was a happy time when I believed in liberals.
