Charger!

Finally, in 2012, Dodge will at last build the Charger they should have built in 2006:

It does look better but, it's still a dodge so I'd still pass.

Will Dodge even be around in 2012?

Well since the Charger that they built in 2006 has been Dodge's 3rd best selling vehicle after the Ram and Caravan, I think that they chose to build the right Charger then.

I think the current charger looks good, but the new one looks nicer --like a shorter, smoothed out version of the old one.

We don't know what the new one looks like yet. All we have is one picture of part of the side.

Re: Charger!

The trouble with buying a Dodge car is you do get nice styling but along with it you get build quality that is along the lines of a Soviet era Zaporozhets.
Dodge/Chrysler has some great design work but their build quality should keep anyone away.

Re: Charger!

That was true for a lot of the 90s but they've improved a lot lately. Now they fall in the middle of the pack, in Mitsubishi-Nissan-Hyundai territory.

Re: Charger!

I've seen other pics of the upcoming Charger floating around on the Web. It's shaping up to be a good-looking car, but not quite as awesome-looking as the 1999 prototype.

Re: Charger!

The 1999 one reminds me a lot of the Stealth/3000GT.

Re: Charger!

Better, but still not as nice as the S197 body Mustang.

Re: Charger!

Now that the Charger's a four-door, it's kind of an apples-and-oranges comparison. I do give the Mustang bonus points for being the only retro muscle car that's not severely overweight, though.

Orange? overdone. And what's with the Beauregard flag? This isn't 1861.

No, but it is 2009 where I live and the rednecks still sport it. In New Hampshire.

Re: Charger!

I must say I don't like those concept illustrations very much. They look too much like the new Camaro, and you know how I feel about that hunk of ugliness. As for the General Lee, that thing is the bane of Mopar enthusiasts everywhere. Why couldn't people have fixated on Frank Booth's Charger, or maybe the one from Bullitt?

You need to do some research on dukes of hazard.

I hear UC Berkeley has an excellent Dukes of Hazard studies program, and has turned out some of the best-known Dukes of Hazard scholars. Sadly, the program is in danger of losing its funding in the coming year.

Re: Charger!

Talking about chargers, the General Lee and the Dukes of Hazzard made me think about Catherine Bach (actor who played Daisy Duke). So i looked it up... man has she changed!
