Yes, and it's in the water.  Don't let it touch you, not even one drop.

Re: Is There Life On Mars, again

Anybody seen those pics of the alleged statue on Mars?

As you well know, I believe in some pretty kooky stuff. I draw the line, however, at the various images sent back by the Mars rovers, in which people imagine they're finding statues and engine blocks and hydraulic pumps and what-not.

How's this for kooky?

Look at the relief map. What do you see?

The four highest points on the planet form an equilateral triangle with the planet's highest point at one vertex and the fourth bisecting the opposite edge. That's a helluva coincidence.

Re: Is There Life On Mars, again

Sure is, especially given the huge preponderance of triangle symbolism and tetrahedrons in Martian architecture and the corresponding ancient Earth architecture and secret societies.

Nonsense, we were slaves created by alien masters on mars and controlled by alien technology. Adam and Eve stole the technology and freed humanity, then escaped to earth. Now the Knights Templar are trying to enslave humanity

So is the constant re-emergence of Pi in nature, including natural fractals.  However, the northern peak looks to be a little bit southwest of where it should be to make a perfect equilateral triangle.

More like the Martians founded the ancient society which the Masons claim to be descended from.

Volcanoes quite often form on lineaments.

Mars is roughly spherical. Google's map is a projection.

Re: Is There Life On Mars, again

The Martians took this into account and positioned the surface features accordingly. It is inevitable, you see, that any advanced civilization will eventually develop Google Maps.

Quite true. It seems provincial to assume that alien races could not use cartesian coordinates, or organize their planet's lineaments into triangles.

Maybe when we send the ARES plane up there, we'll get to see the little green men waving hello.

Let me guess (since I can't get to YouTube at the moment): this is stuff from Richard Hoagland?

No. It's stuff from the NASA archives.

Bren wrote:

Um, not really. Yes, the people who made that YouTube video are quoting from transcripts made from Apollo 11, but only while doing the most favored pasttime for conspiracy theorists: anomaly hunting. They find texts that look suspicious only if you assume that the Apollo 11 astronauts were completely without humor (such ast the campfire comment) or were 100% literal in their descriptions (such as the "roads" around Moltke Crater comment) while showing (when possible) relatively low-resolution photos supposedly showing such features. On the pictures they are doing basically the same thing that Hoagland does: blow up the pictures to the point that photographic artifacts become more important than than the content of the picture itself.

Of course now these folks will make use of the very high resolution photos coming from the Lunar Reconnaisance Orbiter and locate those features, right? And when the supposed artificial features aren't found they will again fall back on the conspiracy theorist thinking of NASA suppressing or doctoring the "real" info, or go on to new levels of artifact hunting a la Hoagland.

I did see that this was part 1 of a series, but I stopped watching about 3/4th the way through this first video because they aren't bringing any real information to light. Maybe they have better evidence later in the series but it's not worth my time to find that.

EDIT: corrected "$" to "%"
