Of course there is the racetrack.  Of course to have it serve the purpose of cooling you have create the vent. My neighbor did it.

Re: I hold a surprise for Bren. Visitors welcome.

OK, I can now rest my case regarding the ugliness of the new Camaro. Here's a '69 Camaro which incorporates almost all the styling cues of the 2010 model:

http://blog.cardomain.com/2009/11/30/ba … he-future/

Notice how all those styling elements look so much nicer on a car whose shape is not fundamentally that of a squashed brick?

Yes. Tailfins seriously need to make a comeback.

Why would a sports car ever need or should be bought for practicality and thus have such a long trunk?

Tailfins won't be coming back for the same reason most hood ornaments have disappeared or been flattened and rounded off: Pedestrians tend to get disemboweled when they hit them.

When do pedestrians hit tailfins?
Also, hood ornaments have been on springs for I don't know how long.

I think that aerodynamics and styling is a bigger reason.

Remember, the grand old cars of the 40s and 50s often had rigidly mounted, harpoon-like devices on their hoods, almost as if they were designed to puncture human torsos. They sometimes did.

Can you find me a pic of the best example of these harpoon cars. Preferably one with a guy pierced by one.

Hispano Suiza, perhaps?

Or is Pierce Arrow more your style?
Duesenberg is also nice and pointy.

The newest example of those are Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Mercedes amongst others. Yet these are not pointy at all so they might not count.

Those retract. These are solidly mounted to the radiator cap.

Cheesy - never liked that style which evolved from the super cheesy Trans-Am. Those remind me of chix w/big hair and way too much make-up.

Yeah, Motor Trend's always seemed a few rungs below the others. Car & Driver's sure gone downhill, though.

C&D reported this a while back. It's not as if Chevy has a choice. Ford has the Mustang convertible, they need to compete. I hope it doesn't look too horrendous when the top is up.

Re: I hold a surprise for Bren. Visitors welcome.

Jerwin, that was hilarious! When I saw the pic of the Camaro's um, trunk-hole, and read what it was being compared to, I almost fell out of my seat!

It's important to clarify though, that this car is specifically a magnet for straight guys. Gay men generally have better taste than to be seen tooling around in something like the Camaro.

Re: I hold a surprise for Bren. Visitors welcome.

Hey Jerwin, if I were looking for a new avatar I would like it to be a pic of a guy hooked onto these Pierce Arrow cars. So I was talking to one of my classmates and we started to talk about the Camaro and he said that if he were to decide (apparently he uses pot and for such reason am now afraid of the guy) to smoke weed or get a Camaro he chooses the car. Weird how drug addicts tend to want drugs instead of cars. Also take into account he can't fit much stuff into that cars trunk.

You're afraid of people 'cause they smoke weed? The only scary thing potheads ever do is raid your fridge.

Re: I hold a surprise for Bren. Visitors welcome.

What about when they run out of cash to buy their pot. Wouldn't he start to steal from me? It's a shame because he was and on his eyes is a good friend of mine but I just don't feel comfortable around him knowing he uses weed. From our conversation the last time he smokes was about a month ago. Regarding raiding my fridge. He would've done it anyways. He is a tad too far on the fat side.

Re: I hold a surprise for Bren. Visitors welcome.

Somebody who can go for a month without using their drug of choice isn't likely to steal for it.
