Meanwhile, back at the topic...

We also have to boycott Bic ballpoint pens and disposable razors.
Does Elf Aquitaine sell gasoline in the US? Not any more!

Pirelli make electrical and data cable as well as tires, and I am not going to buy an Airbus unless they take off all the bits stamped with Fabrique en France.

Also we have to burn our copies of The Little Prince, stop French kissing, refuse French Fries, use Italian dressing on our salad instead of French dressing and take the French Horn out of our orchestras and marching bands.  And we'll have to stop going to art cinemas and watching black-and-white movies with subtitles, three men and a girl.

There's a line for everything, and you, sir, have just crossed the line.  Le Petit Prince was probably my favoritististist book in the whole wide world when I was young, and I'll always love it.  Well actually, the version I loved as a child was Ha Nassich HaKatan, but all versions of that book are sacred to me.

Re: Just for fun, let's try to list things French to boycott...

I boycott French bashing.  The only reason it's not labeled hate crime is because they're primarily white.  Morons engage in it and the arguments for it are infantile, jingoist propaganda and outright lies.  Anybody bashes the French in front of me in RL I'm going to start bashing them with my pitching wedge.  I prefer intentionally causing a Darwin Award.

my vote goes here

PowerBook G4 12" 1Ghz - dead USB port

Bic... How could I have missed Bic? And those other lighters-- I haven't bought lighters in awhile, so I forget their name, but they're better than Bics. They have a big spark wheel and a boxy shape. Thay're good pipe lighters. Ahh.. I can't remember, probably someone else will.

Anyways, boycott them, too.

Let's take this opportunity and boycott rudeness smile  Try to get at least one good thing out of this aweful, racist, undeserved mess.

I second your motion to boycott rudeness. I also add that everyone bathe regularly, and use deodorant, just to drive the point home.  big_smile

Re: Just for fun, let's try to list things French to boycott...

A boycott means boycotting French-made products, some of you are just being silly making fun of it.

It's this big pessimist attitude that I hate. "Don't even try to boycott, you can't do anything". "yeah that boycott will really show the French hahaha". If enough people boycott prominent French products, it will mean something. People with that attitude of "the job is too big/hard/tough" have never done anything but pull everyone else down. I wonder if people told blacks that their bus boycott was laughable and meant nothing? And it didn't for over a year I believe.

My contribution to the boycott is refusing to eat yogurt because of it's 'sissiness', and showering like somebody with OCD.

I'm going to leave it at that.

If I'm not mistaken, that was the point of this thread...I believe it was stated as being "just for fun". If you're not having fun, there are plenty of other threads where you can.

Silliness?

Try rank stupidity. It's always convenient for people in power to have a scapegoat. It allows them to blame others for their own failings and smurf, and deflects the endless rage of the knuckle-draggers.

Tragedy, it seems, unleashes America's bloodlust, defiance its childish hatred. What a great people.

Majority of stock-holders are Americans, huh? Well, then, maybe it's time for divestment, just like South Africa.

Also: The brand of lighter I was trying to think of was Djeep.

Great lighters.

But don't buy them.

No no, we're trying to get rid of the bath parties!  Where have you been?  ;-)

Actually, the reason I'm not boycotting the French is that they haven't done all that much other than to disagree with the war.  What amuses me is when people oppose the war, hold demonstrations etc, and yet still hate France.  Those kind of people need to stop and think for a second.

I'm just pointing out that it's a bit simplistic to think that you can stop buying "French products" in the U.S. ( lol ) and not inadvertently hurt Americans at the same time.

Getting back on topic, we should also boycott the Louisiana purchase.  Kick states on that land out of the Union -- they're probably spies, or worse, they might disagree with Washington.

I think we should drop a few nukes on anything with a name like "French Quarters".

And we also need to bomb the crap out of:

- Paris, Texas
- Paris, Illinois
- Paris, Kentuky
- Paris, Tennessee
- Paris, Arkansas
- Paris, Iowa
- Paris, Idaho <- probably the worst, since Freedom Fries come from here
- Paris, Michigan
- Paris, Maine
- French, Arkansas
- French, Minesota
- French, New Mexico
- French, Virginia
- France, Idaho <- Good God! TWO traitor cities? Nuke the whole spud state!

People in all these places need to be wiped off the face of our Righteous Godly Country. Buncha traitors...

I didn't say the boycott was ludicrous because it was too big/hard/tough. I said the boycott was ludicrous because of why it's being put together in the first place.

Sorry,Buzzword. I enjoyed The Little Prince, too.

And a couple of the books Saint-Ex wrote about flying. Very poetic stuff.
