Re: 10 000

I'm almost to 1600 after a few months shy of a year. Congrats on the milestone. Going to try for 10008?

Re: 10 000

Yep..3 years now & my "souped up" Quadra 700 with a 60Mhz PowerPC 601 upgrade is cruchin' like there's no tomorrow. Heck, if they extend this Seti@home project for a few more months, I'm gonna be putting this baby on "crunch-time" 24-7! Then I'll splurge and buy a "like new" (well kinda "like new") PM7100-80. That hummer will speed things up quite a bit. No more of these 3 work unit months ever again! (OK, almost 3 work units a month).  My Goal: To petition the Seti@Home people to get them to add a 125 WU certificate.  Hey folks, that's half of 250, I think I have a legit point here!

With the addition of a PM7100 to my Q700 workhorse, 125 WU's will surely become a reality for me before this part of the project comes to an end.

Re: 10 000

You know, a 601 upgraded Quadra 700 is a sweet machine, but using it for SETI is kind of, well, emberassing. If the electricity bill isn't an issue, there are schools that throw faster computers in the dumpster. Find an old Pentium II and set it up - even a 233 will crunch one a day.
