Ill start

I play on a 933 G4 (my dads) with a dying monitor . I like playing too many games for my own good, IE UT, Unreal, Doom (don't laugh ), Rune, and whatever demo looks interesting at the time . Ill be graduating from high school in June, so I'm on the verge of college student. Besides being addicted to macs, Im also addicted to reading Sci-fi, particularly Star Wars (especially the NJO books), but I also like Tolkien, Clarke, Chrichton, Eddings, Clancy, etc (I think I have obsessive compulsive reading disorder or something).  Ive been a musician the last half + of my life playing everything from violin to tuba to drums, and I enjoy listening to all kinds of music (classical to techno to jazz to whatever). Im in first year AP comp sci, and I enjoy that, but one of my biggest loves is history, especially european (unfortunately, Poli Sci majors don't get you the big bucks in life). My parents bought 3 macs when my mom was pregnant with me, so Ive been surrounded by them my whole life.

Favorite TV show: If I still watched tv, it would be StarGate, Ive watched every episode of Star Trek Voyager and Next generation though, (fav ST movie was First Contact)

Movies Ive gone to see the midnight showings for: EPII: AotC & LotR: TTT

* I play on a 450 MHz G4 Cube (hopefully 1.2 GHz+ in a couple months) with a 60 gig HD, 384 megs of RAM, and a Radeon 32 MB AGP.
* I also have a 17" ViewSonic monitor, USB Pro Speakers, and an iSub.
* Other games I enjoy playing are: MoH:AA, Unreal, UT, STV:EF, SC:BW, AoEII:GE, Alice, Rune, Giants, and W3.
* I am 18 and nervous about being shipped off to college later this year

I'm a 32-year-old father of three, the youngest of which is almost 2 months old (which explains why I don't play very often these days...).

My main gaming Mac is a G4/400 AGP, which is soon to be upgraded to 1.2ghz (upgrade has been backordered...should be here in a week or two ).

I've been with [MA] since March 2001, and I'm a very vocal proponent of expanding [MA] into other multiplayer games. The JK2 Division is a most welcome addition to our game repertoire!

I currently also play UT, Rune, and STV:EF, but I'm mainly playing JK2 and STV:EF these days, because I don't have to boot back into 9 to play those two.

I also have a few other Macs, and I just put together an Athlon-based PC. I may start playing Rune on that beast, I haven't made up my mind yet.

I'm currently on the {MAC} roster for STV:EF (they're a STV:EF only clan), but I haven't actually had the time to play with them yet. (Newborns'll do that to you).

I view multiplayer gaming as a social outlet, and I value my relationships forged in [MA] and elsewhere. I look at [MA] as more of a community than a "clan", and I typically spend more time in the social gathering places (in the forums, in IRC) than in-game.

CaptKev: how did you get EF to run in OSX? is it native? ive had some problems with it. is there a patch i have to download?

Well I've been gaming on computers before there were games... I use to write games in basic...

I play UT, JK II, Warcraft III, and god only knows the hundreds of other games I've played on the Mac.  I think out of any game that I have ever purchased, there are 3 that I never beat, and two are because of bugs.

Funny how the two games I named were made from Take 2...

In any case, I'm on an "ancient" G4/500 w/DVD RAM, 1.5GB Memory, and 200GB HD space, with a DSL connection.

I'm waiting to get a job, or make a job before getting a new machine, I have been waiting for the fabled "G5" to come out finally before purchasing one...

As being unemployed I have plenty of time on my hands...unthankfully.

I'm free so far any day except Tue and Thur untill 11:00 and 8:30 on Sat, Due to previous agreements.

Wassup, peeps?

I'm an adult-verging-on-middle-age Mac gamer, and damn proud of it.  I play JKII, Freedom Force, CivIII, and just picked up NOLF, but haven't had a chance to play much yet.  I know some of y'all from actually playing with you (JKC, benwards, maybe a few others), or from #clanma, which I go on every now and again, or, obviously, from the MAF itself.

It says English on my degree, and dammit, English it is!  (Obsessive compulsive reading disorder -- LOL! that really made my day, Chewie.)

I play on a dual-gig PowerMac.  Coming from a G4/400, it was quite the upgrade for me.  Also have an iBook.  My wife has a 12" PB, but, for obvious reasons, I don't get to play with that as much as I would like.

I'm employed, but I live by the creed that I'm always up for a game.  You got a game, I got the time.  If I don't got the time, I'll make the time.  If the time isn't there, I'll go back in time and uh... well, you get the idea.  I usually play with the three-eyed alien avatar (the one that's always armed with the thermal detonators in the single-player game -- SW geeks, help a dude out, yo!), or maybe the prisoner model, or maybe the Jedi trainer one.  One way of the other, it's a green lightsaber, just like benwards, I guess.  Give it up for the green, yo!  Representin'.  Word.

I like low-power force games, or even servers that have only jump and all the saber powers (attack, defense, throw) on.  My fav power is jump.  Though the saber throw is a close second.  Playing with guns on is okay every now and again for a change of pace, too, but the saber's where's it at.

That's way more than enough.  One question, though: where are we gonna play?  I'm on GameRanger more than I really should be, and I try to host a late-night (11pm-2am PST) game of JKII about 2-3 times a week.  I'm a morning kid of guy only in the sense that 12.01am-5am is "morning", if you feel me.

This "clanning up" is a new thing for me, but I'm excited as all get-out.

I hate kickers, and I hate people who "hack and slash" give me a person who can fight with the saber, and I'll show you a good duelist.

BTW, if I could only do what I can do in RL with those sabers...lol...

As for clanning don't let it scare ya, the only thing that should worry you is your opponent.

Hmmmmm, sounds like a challenge.    At any rate I'll match up my saber prowess with any and all comers.  I don't mind kickers -- imo, if it's in the game, it's fair to use.  I wouldn't use scripts or anything, though.  But fighting against those who do can make you a better player.  In the end, you fight against yourself, perhaps as in all things.  (Wow, that's like, deep or something...beep beep beep.)  I fenced in high school, but that was a while ago.  Always wanted to do some kendo, maybe someday I'll find the time -- though with JKIII coming out eventually, maybe not... .

And hey, I never said clanning up scared me, only that it was new.  Most clans are full of people who take it waaaaaaay too seriously.  (Well, I mean they take winning way too seriously.  I take having fun as seriously as the next compulsive gamer.)  As the Cap'n said, it's about the community, too.  Opponents dont concern me; it's hard to get all worried over "life and death" in a game in which you respawn, anyway.

Disposition: Likable, easy to get along with dude. Fiercely competitive, yet a good sport, when it comes to the game.

I have my own JKII clan, NOMAD, that my nephews and my sons and I have formed. (Can you say LAN PARTY!?!?) We are just now growing beyond the family. I hope this doesn't cause a conflict. Is there a rule against dual membership? I hope not because MA sounds like tons of fun.

Hey, that's my computer! I do agree, it doesn't handle JK2 well, but it is fairly playable.

Yeah, the very last set of G3 iMacs had 16 MB of vram. It's not much of a game machine. 

But... when I graduate in over a year, I'll probably get a new one
