The race is on...who has received their new iPod?
I ordered my new 30GB iPod on Tuesday morning California time at the Apple online store. According to the tag line they had on the Apple store, they claim that they would get it to me by Friday afternoon if I ordered now. That's what I did. I even chose the fastest shipping option (Priority), even though they usually ship things from Sacramento and I'm in San Jose (not that far of a drive).
My order status shows "Open" and says that it will ship "On or before 05/02/2003."
Also, since I purchased my new iPod online, will I qualify for the freebies at the Apple store? Maybe I'll take my new iPod in with me to show them that I did buy one.
That is if it comes in on Friday afternoon, like Apple promised.
When did you order?
When did you receive it?

Well, I ordered mine right after the press conference on Monday. I did it for the same reason you did, the site advertised they would have it to me by Friday afternoon. I too chose the 2-day priority mail, just to be safe. And my order still shows Open. 
If its not here by Friday I'm calling to get a refund on the shipping charge.

I haven't received an email confirmation yet, but the order status page changed from open to shipped around 8:30pm central time tonight.

Unfortunately for me, Airborne Express had some kind of handling problem and told me it wouldn't arrive until Monday. I called Apple, they called Airborne and confirmed it, so they refunded me the expedited shipping charge. Which is about all I could ask for.

Mine in out there in the Airborne Express ether.... I was in the shower when the the guy came this morning. He didn't bother getting my apartment manager to sign off on it which FedEx and UPS does all the time. I called Airborne Express, and hopefully I can pick it up tonight otherwise I will have to wait until Monday.....

That's weird, I just did the standard, no shipping cost, option and they had it lined up for delivery today. I don't know if that is because I ordered it the day it came out?

I got my shipping upgraded for free (I ordered Wednesday night). I got it at 8:30 this morning. I must say, the recording feature is great (although short).

Went to Best Buy to see if they had any deals on the old models and guess what? I walked out with a 15gig iPod 15 minutes later...someones gonna get it!
you got the extra 3 year warranty, right?
because that's the only reason i would buy an ipod at best buy....

First off, I ordered my iPod from the Canadian Apple site, to a Canadian Address. This was on the monday night, around 10 PM. I chose the free ground shipping option, 8-10 days.
Well GUESS WHAT??? It's playing my AC/DC RIGHT NOW!!!!
I couldn't believe it! If this is standard ground shipping, then express must be via carrier pigeon direct from Apple...
this iPod is so sweeeet....
