Doubt it, unless AppleWorks does a full 180 dramatic turn. :raisedbrow:

Re: Office Removal
Well, I've discontinued PP because of Keynote.
Don't get me wrong, PP served me for many years, but with all the enhancements and features that have been added over the years, it still feels and looks like day one. Microsoft had their chance. They decided to take the 900 lb. gorilla approach. They lose.
Word, I'm not trading. Excel, I'm not trading. But..if I had a GOOD excuse...
Microsoft hinted (heavily) last year that Office v.X was a disappointment for them. And rightly so. It's a 900 lb. disappointment for many of us. Such great potential. But without competition, why improve.
They have already shown their true colors with Safari. They're backing out in the face of real competition. Should Linux get an Office like package that can expose the Microsoft Myth for what it truly is, we might see a long needed market adjustment while Microsoft is forced to innovate and compete.
Wishful thinking...I know. I don't hate Microsoft (well, not all the time). I just don't like their attitude and irresponsibility, especially in light of their marketshare.
But, back to the subject. Yeah, I think they will.

Re: Office Removal
As much as I dislike all things M$, I don't think Keynote is ready to step up and replace anything. Building a browser is one thing, I think that can be done fairly quickly. But there will have to be at least 1 more version of Keynote to get it up to the level of replacing PowerPoint.

Re: Office Removal
I'll say it again: Office X is a great app., whether it is made by MS or not.
If Apple could make the 4 apps. included in Office as good as MS does then I would "switch". Don't see it happening in the near future though.

Re: Office Removal
Office X feels quite poorly ported to me, though I guess getting a 900 poind gorilla from one OS to another is hard work. It's also frustrating that mac office still lacks some of the features of the pc version ? often not major features, but niggling little ones.
As for powerpoint, I guess it is a possibility it could be dropped. However, i think it's worth pointing out that unlike IE, PP is a content creation app, which introduces a host of other factors and complications.

Re: Office Removal
I wish they would port some of the other Office apps, like FrontPage and Access. Besides GoLive, the Mac kind of lacks an easy-to-use but powerful WYSIWYG HTML editor. Office needs to be a little more Mac-like, too. Take the latest iteration of PowerPoint:mac. It doesn't support anti-aliasing or any of the other visual goodies Keynote affords. Microsoft needs to get with the Mac program and update their software for the 21st century.

That's the one. "Embrace of the Vampire." I couldn't remember the name right in the other thread...I thought it was "Vampire's Kiss" or possibly one of her other nudie films "Poison Ivy II" (which is also nice and has hottie hottie fun scenes in it).

And you think $400 is 'easy-to-obtain'? I'm stuck with M-Composer...

I didn't say I liked FrontPage, I rather dislike it. I was just saying that the Mac lacked some good (CHEAP!) WYSIWYG HTML editors.

Re: Office Removal
Maybe IE will be packaged with office? I can't see Apple being able to make Safari completely compatible sites built for IE.
PS: Is babes kissing each other the new rage in avatars here?
