Mystery McIntosh Audio part

Alright, I know there's some audio-philes in here, so maybe you can help me out.

I ran across some McIntosh equipment... that's right... THAT McIntosh as in "McIntosh Labs"... and bought up the stuff while the gettings were low. Really low. It's three seperate 8"x6"x1 1/2" black boxes with the McIntosh logo on the front and a pair of proprietary connectors on the right hand side.

But here's the rough part: I don't know exactly what kind of part they are  and how much they're worth... a google search hasn't given me anything, so does anybody know of a site or other reputable source I can go to, to see how much I can get out of these things? They're intact but there was no boxes nor instruction manuals. All I have is the model number: EF-10801-D.

I just know that I've stepped into a worthy investment here and that dumb luck can be thanked to my acquiring them, but what exactly is it that I'm looking at?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Have you tried looking on eBay?
It can be a fine research tool.

Are you talking about McIntosh Audio?

Is it possible to post pictures of the equipment?

Are they like the black boxes in this pdf?

Okay, thanks for the link to that product brochure!

But no, looks nothing like anything in it, sadly... I'll definitely put some pics up; thank you for helping! smile

Re: Mystery McIntosh Audio part

I bet it's from under the seat of a car. Were there any cars that touted McIntosh stereos? Probably high end, like a rolls or a Bentley.

I concur, they look like car audio amps.  that last pic especially looks like the radio  would plug right into it.  hmmmm, quite a mystery!

Re: Mystery McIntosh Audio part

found this:
Separately, Subaru is reportedly offering a new 2001 Outback H6 3.0 VDC with a 200-watt McIntosh audio system, marking the first time McIntosh has offered OEM car audio. McIntosh is a Clarion company.

That was definitely my first opinion, but I can't find anything on their website that would even resemble what I have here... quite frusterating, because if there was a model number on it that their website would pick up, it'd make it so much easier.
