Can't Share or Unshare Volumes!!! Help!
I am running OSX.2.6 Server. I have not really had any problems in the past. Now, suddenly, Workgroup Manager won't share a new volume. (It also won't let me turn OFF the sharing of another). It's very strange. No changes I make will stick. Has anyone seen this or have an idea of why it is happening? Thanks.

I also had an old sharepoint stuck in Workgroup Manager. I managed to finally delete it and I thought that MAYBE that would fix my other problem. But I still can not add or remove share points. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm getting a bit desperate here....

Thanks. But I'm not sure what you mean. I have three external drives being shared. Plus a couple of internals. They have been working well up until now. But now I can't unshare. When I hit "Save" it looks like it's doing something but the share remains on. If I try to share another drive that I have attached and hit "save" it also seems like it's doing something but the share never activates. Is there something else I could tell you that might help? Thanks for the help.

This sounds off the wall, but try the following:
Open Disk Utility, click on First Aid tab, click on Repair Disk Permissions.
Try it again.
If still no success, try deleting the preference files that are associated with the workgroup manager (after making a backup in case it backfires on you).
Dive in the Pool!

I already tried those things. I think you can only repair permissions on your boot drive, right? And the preferences thing didn't work either. :-(

So you didn't rename any folders?
What type of user are you connecting as?
Where are you connecting from?
Are you sure your user has the right permissions?

I'm logged in as the administrator for that machine and running Workgroup Manager right on the machine. It is a NEW drive that I can't share and I can't unshare ANY of my other drives. It's very strange. I hope I don't have to reinstall the OS.

I used it when I had a similar problem.
My sharepoints appeared as blank documents in the Workgroupmanager after I changed a filename.

This problem seems difficult to diagnose.
Maybe you should cut your losses and reformat.
