any ideas on what may be causing this......ive dowloaded 1.0 6 times now. it only started happening upon installing 1.0.

please help

Is it fair to assume you've changed your Home page address in Preferences and you've changed the "Open new pages to: dropdown menu to that page as well?

yes i have done all that. when i open safari in the dock, or in the applications folder it loads about half the page, and then stops.....if i try to do anything it unexpectedly quits. apple pages are the only ones that seem to work, and they generally only work via links from enews emails.

again, don't have X in front of me,

you should try going into your Library > Application support and see if Safari files are in there.

also goto Users > <username> > Library > Preferences > remove preferences that have 'safari' in it.

com.apple.blahblahblahblah.safari (file that looks like this)

u should be goot to goer after that.

you can also check out Library > Preferences > remove any Safari 'junk'

I had major Safari issues until I deleted everything with the name "Safari" in it, and reinstalled 1.0.

I had downloaded Safari in a beta version some months ago and then recently downloaded the new full version 1.0 and I had similar problems until I deleted all the 'beta bits' and re-installed 1.0, all OK now.
