this is not the thread for a market debate.

your "free market" requires that the public interest and the common interest of the market would be the same.  too often market equilibrium is not driven by any conception of "interest" and an obsession with profit.

with items like health care, electricity and water... that becomes an impossible argument because there are too many players... there are few if any free markets.  and they cannot be free because no free market HAS EVER self-regulated... proving that public interest will lose out too greed inexorably, every time.  and that's too bad.  the commodities markets are a better place, because there are multiple commodities.

what is my alternative in the electricty model?  no electricty...   

and, i'll swing back and ask why blame Davis?

answer: a market boob like issa had a million bucks too burn.  apparently, politics is subject to greed of another kind.
